The Fielder Pattern Dress
Kia Ora fellow sewers. When I received the Fielder Pattern I literally tore it open and started cutting it out. I found it very easy to construct. I've made two now, one for evening and one for daytime wear, in the space of a week. I only mention it to demonstrate how quick the Fielder is to sew.
It's a no zip, no button kinda dress. The raglan sleeves are always a dream to sew and the detail on the sleeve head with the dart is gorgeous. The ribbing at the bottom of the three quarter sleeve is a nice touch.
The pockets? we love pockets ✓. Everything fits together perfectly in this pattern. I used a luxe ribbing with the Edie Denim Cotton version as it has a lurex thread weaved in and Chocolate Fern Rib for the natural Linen.
The Edie Denim Cotton is a light soft fabric, cool to wear and a deep midnight blue. Once I had made it up it looked like an evening dress I could wear out for dinner. What I really like about this dress is that it's simple and elegant. This is certain to be my go-to pattern for the summer. Love it. Everything you need to make one of these beautiful dresses is available on my website.
