Food for thought.......

Looking forward to next year and re-evaluating my whole wardrobe, shoes, clothes, coats, jackets and bags.

Every time I try to cull my scarf and glove collection I can't do it.  I tell myself they are thoughtfully chosen to go with all my outfits so it's ok to keep them all. It's an excuse.

When looking at my wardrobe of clothes I do try to be more ruthless. Two or three coats and jackets should be all a person needs but there again, which ones to let go of?

My goal for 2025 is to be more conscious of needs versus wants. A popular fashion and food chain, Marks and Spencer, in the UK rolled out an initiative a few years ago that suggested when you buy something new pass on your older item to a charity shop if it is still in good condition. Or the recycle clothing bin.

That's my new outlook on the coming year.  Adopting a new way of thinking (well it's new for me). I recently took a course on SAORImor weaving in Wales which was a very mindful experience.  There is only one SAORImor weaver in New Zealand, she's based in Hamilton but the fact that you could make your own fabric is very appealing. It is a traditional form of Japanese weaving.

Food for thought, have a great Christmas and be safe. Meri Kirihimete.

Photo:  Meet the Mallard Coat from The Sewing Revival. Janine made this from a tablecloth she found in a charity shop in the South Island. What a find and whst a wonderful imagination Janie has with the tablecloth. Released at New Plymouth Frocktails this year. We all loved it Janine.
